2 x 10 min | VR fiction | in development
A couple has separated. The mutual daughter alternates between her mother's house and her father's on a weekly basis. All of them want to celebrate her 11th birthday together. In doing this, they realize that they are worlds apart. To present this gap to the viewer, two versions of the story are being realized. While the 2D version shows the mother's inner conflict, the viewer of the 360° version can chose the viewing direction.
BIRTHDAY addresses the problems of a separated couple raising a mutual daughter. The short movie is being realized for the two-dimensional cinema screen as well as for the virtual 360° space. A focused and emotional story on the cinema screen, it turns into a surprisingly complex narrative through the possibility to freely chose the viewing direction in the 360° version.
